In September 2019, Xiaobai Shen is hereby conferred the title of honourary research fellow by SISS.

　　Shen Xiaobai, a PhD holder, serves as a senior lecturer (associate professor) specializing in international and Chinese business at the University of Edinburgh Business School. She has also held visiting professorships at Peking University Law School and Tsinghua University School of Science and Technology. As a member of the University of Edinburgh's Institute for Science, Technology, and Innovation, she is responsible for liaison in the East Asian region. Her primary research interests lie in the fields of science, technology, and innovation, with a particular emphasis on issues related to developing countries.

　　Currently, Dr.Shen is working on intellectual property (IP) regimes in China. In general, her research is on the social analysis of technology (products/services), their markets, and embedding broader context. She specialises in the areas of telecommunications, information and computing sectors, in particular focusing on issues concerning emerging markets.
