In October 2017, Yonghong Mei is hereby conferred the title of honourary research fellow by SISS.

　　Yonghong Mei serves as Chairman of BGI Agriculture Group and Vice President of Country Garden Holdings. Previously, he served as Director-General of the Department of Policy, Regulation and Reform at the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), as well as Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jining Municipal Committee and Mayor of Jining, Shandong Province.

　　With a long tenure at MOST focused on the research and formulation of strategies and policies for sci-tech innovation, Mr. Mei participated in drafting key policy documents and has been an active advocate of the "Independent Innovation" strategy. He possesses deep expertise in think tank research and extensive experience in policy formulation, enjoying a high reputation and significant influence within China's science and technology innovation community.
