In January 2024, Rongping Mu is hereby conferred the title of honourary research fellow by SISS.

　　Rongping Mu holds a B.S. and M.S. from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and a Ph.D. from the Technical University of Berlin. He currently serves as Director and Research Fellow at the Center for Innovation and Development Studies, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He concurrently serves as Director of the CAS Intellectual Property Research and Training Center, Editor-in-Chief of Science Research Management, Chairman of the Chinese Association for Science of Science and S&T Policy, and Chairman of the China High-Tech Industry Development Promotion Association. Additionally, Dr. Mu is a member of the Expert Committee for the National 13th Five-Year Plan, the Expert Advisory Committee for National Strategic Emerging Industries, and the Expert Advisory Committee of the China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA). His research focuses on technology foresight, technology transfer, STI (Science, Technology, and Innovation) policy, and the international competitiveness of high-tech industries. Previously, he served as Director of the Institute of Policy and Management (IPM), CAS, a member of the Scientific and Economic Advisory Committee of the European Patent Office (EPO), and Party Secretary of the Institutes of Science and Development, CAS (formerly IPM).
